Certain commodities shipped to Syria are subject to specific customs regulations. To ensure smooth clearance and
avoid delays or additional charges, please review the following requirements carefully before shipping.
Food & Perishable Items
Food shipments require prior approval from the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities. All food items
are subject to inspection upon arrival. Perishable goods may face delays or rejection if documentation is
incomplete.
Medical Instruments & Medical Equipment
Shipments of medical instruments or medical equipment require official approval from the Ministry of Health and
must be accompanied by a Certificate of Origin. Additional inspections may apply.
Medical Supplies
Medical supplies require prior authorization from the Ministry of Health. Shipments without proper approval may
be delayed or held at customs.
Cosmetics
Cosmetic products may be inspected and require Ministry of Health approval, especially for commercial
quantities. Delays and extra charges may apply if documentation is missing.
Dental Instruments
Dental tools and equipment require Ministry of Health approval and may be subject to additional customs
clearance time.

Printed materials may be reviewed for content compliance. Items containing inappropriate material may be
censored, delayed, or confiscated. Large quantities may require special permits.
Spare Parts
Invoices must clearly state the part name, detailed specifications, components, and the machinery or equipment
in which the part is used.
Oil & Gas Industry Equipment
Oil and gas − related equipment or materials require approval from the relevant Syrian authorities.
Shipments held for approval may incur storage fees.
Military & Dual-Use Items
Military equipment, communication devices, surveillance tools, or dual-use items require special authorization.
Without valid permits, shipments may be delayed, charged duties, or rejected.
Personal Effects
Personal effects are defined as used items owned for a minimum of six (6) months and intended strictly for
personal use.
Required documentation includes:
- A detailed inventory list with estimated values and reason for importation
- Written confirmation that items are older than six months and for personal use only
- Copy of passport or national ID
items intended for resale, commercial use, or distribution are not considered personal effects and cannot be
shipped under this category.
Excisable goods (such as alcohol, tobacco, perfumes), medicines, and perishable food are not allowed as personal
effects.
Personal effects shipments cannot be combined with Return Services.
